| Who We Support |
|
The
Infinite Light Foundation™ (ILF) and divisions thereof,
is a nonprofit spiritual and public benefit organization,
established by charter as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation
for religious, charitable, scientific, literary, educational
purposes, and for the prevention of cruelty to children
or animals.
The income that sustains our operations comes primarily from corporate sponsorships, grants, private funding and personal contributions made by pledges, donations, recurring gifts and love offerings. By and through our received charitable donations, we, as a public benefit corporation extend support donations and contributions to program-related non-profit charity based organizations, community projects, and grants, awards, awards, scholarships and sponsorships to qualifying applicants.
The
Infinite Light Foundation™ supports pluralism and
equal opportunity in its grant making and in its internal
policies. The opportunities that prospective grantee organizations
provide for minorities and women are considered in evaluating
proposals. When a support grant, award, scholarship or sponsorship is approved by the ILF board, the grant-making process is then initiated within the broad parameters of the approved tentative budget allocation. The projected grant-making budget plans tentatively for about 65 percent allocation of the budget, with 35 percent free for unanticipated applications and/or proposals.
If an application and/or proposal is being considered for a grant, an extensive administrative interview, negotiation, and legal review process occurs generally over a three month period. Following the three month interim review process, approved grant funds are usually presented to the recipient within a few weeks.
Support grant monitoring is designed to ensure that allocated funds are used for the approved and lawful purposes, and to ascertain whether the granted funds are contributing to the progress of the overall goal. Grant renewals are available to approved applicants since ILF supports long-term strategies, providing the allocated funds are targeted toward specific projects that fit within our program objectives and guidelines. After the monitoring process of a grant and grantee is complete, the ILF board prepares and approves a final report, and the grant is closed. The grant file is then moved to the ILF archives. Ten years after grant completion, these archived grant documents may then be available for research by scholars.
Granted funds of ILF are limited in relation to the great number of worthwhile proposals it receives. ILF directs it support to activities and projects that are within the scope of its objectives, and likely to have a wide range effect. ILF support grants, awards, sponsorships, scholarships, program-related investments and activities are provided to and for the purposes of other program-related non-profit charitable organizations, schools, universities, religious, scientific, literary, and for the prevention of cruelty to children or animals, which fall within our program objectives, and are defined under the appropriate provisions of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code and Treasury Regulations. Support funds to schools or universities for sponsorships and scholarships are generally made available to and for those who are responsible for the selection of the recipients, and are awarded either through publicly announced competitions, or on the basis of nominations from schools, universities and other nonprofit organizations. In all cases, organization support recipients are selected and awarded on the merits of their applications and proposals, and their potential contribution for advancing ILF program objectives.
ILF does not support or award grants for purely personal needs. Support for sponsorships and scholarships are generally provided to schools, universities and other nonprofit organizations which are responsible for the selection of the recipients. Most ILF grants to individuals are awarded either through publicly announced competitions, or on the basis of nominations from schools, universities and other non-profit organizations. In all cases, recipients are selected and awarded on the merits of their applications and proposals, and on their potential contribution for advancing the program objectives of ILF.
ILF does not support or operate in foreign countries. ILF is not affiliated with any government unit, and does not support or attempt to influence, legislation, political campaigns, or engage in economic development activities, nor does it operate or endorse any type of bingo or gaming activities.
All
applications are reviewed in the order received by ILF board
members. Normally, applicants can expect to receive a reply
in writing within approximately six weeks of ILF receiving
the application, as to whether the application and/or proposal
is within the ILF program interests, objectives and budget
limitations. Applications are considered throughout the
year and there are no application submission deadlines.
Applicants are asked to not submit more than one application
in a twelve month time period. Infinite
